10 months!
March 11, 2013 11:50 am Photography, The Scott Family
OH what a busy month you have had little Tatum! It feels like you have completely grown up this month. You are a full blown WALKER. No more cruising for you, you just stand up and take off! I feel like you went to sleep a 9 month old and woke up an adult. Ok, well at least a toddler. Not only are you so much bigger in size, but you just look more like a toddler! It makes me sad that your aren’t my little baby anymore. Owen couldn’t be happier, however. You guys are best buddies. He loves that you can walk and tries to get you to dance with him all the time. You love him sooo much. It is so sweet to see how your face lights up when he walks in the room. You sure do love your daddy, too! Da-da was a new word this month, as well as buh for book (or bubbles, I’m not really sure!) You really don’t tolerate purees anymore. Finger foods or bottles is all you want. And A LOT of it! You can go through a whole avocado, 50 ish blueberries, 50 ish peas, and 30 oz a day! It blows me away how much a little lady can eat! I love it though, although this does mean we change clothes after every meal or snack! Another new addition this month: NOSE PICKING. It is disgusting. I have no idea how to stop you. It’s almost like a pacifier. You just stick your finger up there and leave it. NO idea. If anyone has any suggestions on how to help my little tater tot keep her finger out of her nose, I would be very appreciative of tips!
Until then, Here’s to another great month my little TEN month old booger picker! I love you anyway!
Learn something new!

While browsing Pinterest today, I was inspired to start a mom’s group! I am DYING to learn how to sew. I have heard a lot about Pinterest parties, but this would be more of a “sharing what you know” type thing. For example, we could meet monthly and take turns teaching the others mom’s new things. I could teach people how to shoot in manual mode one month and the next month someone could teach how to sew, or cook a special dish, or knit, or organize, or decorate! I feel like everyone could contribute something! I just had to come type this quick post because I wanted to see if anyone else would be interested. I will probably reach out to several of you over the next few weeks but I didn’t want to forget so this kind of holds me accountable!
Happy Monday to you all!
xx Addie
Updated: It’s actually just a group. Probably will still limit this to females, but if any of you gentlemen feel so inclined please feel free to reach out. Orginally, I was thinking “moms” because I was thinking during the day, but it would be much easier to leave the kiddos at home and do this on a night or weekend AND since some of you extremely talented ladies aren’t moms… this works much better! And who are we kidding, it’s hard enough to complete a sentence with the kids around, much less learn something! So far I’ve got 7, I’ll message each of you as I figure out more details. Yay!
9 months!

Tatum is NINE months, as in 3 months away from ONE YEAR. For some reason this sounds soo old to me and it makes me sad that it’s going so fast! She is so much fun at this age though and has such a fun personality. I love getting to stay home with her and watch her learn and discover new things. It’s so much fun introducing new foods to her because she takes to almost anything. She is not a big fan of purees and loves to feed herself. (This is a MUCH better experience than we have had with big brother!) Her favorite foods so far are blueberries, bananas and avocado. She weighs 19 lbs and is greater than 97% head circum. So, she has a big ole’ brain just like her brother. Some new things this month: She loves to wave and said her first word, “hiiiiii” as she waves, of course. She is quite the expert climber and cruises behind the walker all over the house! She has also started to get her 2 front teeth this month, so she is looking a little bit less like a baby vampire. She is definately a daddy’s girl and he is quite smitten himself! Happy 9 months baby girl!

Precious Tatum, you are growing up much too quickly! You are always on the go! A super fast crawl plus cruising behind anything that you can scoot in front of you! Walking can’t be far ahead, which terrifies your momma! You need to stay my little baby for longer!! You have sprouted 2 new teeth this month. You might be part vampire because instead of your two front teeth you are getting the ones next to the front… you look a little like baby esmy. You and Owen loove to play together and you have become quite fond of trains and cars! You have the most contagious giggle and your smile can light up the room. Love you baby girl! Happy 8 months!

*Clearly, she has outgrown this cradle! I want you to know it is only being used for your monthly photos for size comparision since we started the monthly pics in it as a newborn. Don’t want to alarm any of you moms out there, I am aware she could fall right out of there!

Happy New Year!

Tater tot woke up at 5 and is now having her first nap and Owen is by miracle of miracles still sleeping. 2013 is off to a great start! I have just finished reading some bible study which was one of my new years resolutions. I have wayyy too many to actually be successful at all of them but they are each important to me so… I’m going to write them here in hopes that one of my very few loyal readers could hold me accountable ![]()
1. Read the bible and spend more time in HIS presence. I am thinking of joing BSF starting next week. Do any of you attend in Tulsa?
2. Begin some form of excercise on a regular basis. I’m shooting for 1x a week. I mean we have to start somewhere right? I thought about joining a gym but I am terrified of leaving Tatum in the kidsgym. I know it’s silly but we get sick enough from all the germies that big bro brings home from school and I don’t know if toning up is worth all the extra trips to the PAC and the sleepless nights. So this one is probably difficult to do until the second half of the year (see, I am already talking myself out of it and it’s Jan 2!!) I might just buy a jump rope and call it good.
3. Keep in touch with friends (not via facebook) I realized that I have done a terrible job of keeping in touch with friends the past year. I think it’s easy to just post updates on facebook and think that means I’ve done my part in keeping people informed but I need to make a better effort to invest the those friendships that are important to me. We all have seasons of our lives when this becomes hard but it’s important to make it a priority
4. print and organize iphone photos, and edit all digital family photos that have been sitting in raw files on my computer.
5. Make blog book for 2012
6. Start Tatum’s scrapbook
okay so this is actually just turning into a to do list… but I will quite possibly need all year to accomplish these.
kiddos are up!

7 months!

Miss Tatum turned 7 months on December 9th. She is on the MOVE! She started crawling and pulling up to a stand. She is quite the busy baby! She has started some solids; peas, carrots, bananas and avocado. So far bananas are the crowd favorite. She insists on self feeding most of the time so this is the obvious choice (thanks to those handy mesh things!) This month, Owen finally started to enjoy playing with Tatum. It has been neat to see how her mobility has changed how he sees her. Well, that and the fact that he has pnuemonia so he is desperate for someone to play with! Either way, he is the absolute sweetest big brother. He tickles her when she is crying and says, “you okay baby?” he wants her to sit in her highchair next to him every time he eats. He gives her his trains to play with and wants to play in whatever room she is in. It’s so wonderful! I think they might actually become best friends! Which makes my heart smile. Feeling SOOOO blessed!
6 months!

Tatum is 6 months old?!? I don’t understand how this is flying by so quickly! She has been VERY busy this month. She got her first 2 teeth, starting sitting up and has become quite the little rolly polly. Not only because she is chubby (which she is! 17.5 lbs!) but she actually thinks rolling is a mode of transportation. She is fast too! She can get from one end of a room to the other in 30 seconds. She is starting to crawl, she gets up on all 4s and rocks back and forth, then scoots along her tummy army crawl style, and decides this is much too slow…rolling is the way to go.
Unfortunately she also experienced her first illness… CROUP. Poor lil babe. She was still sick in her little 6 month pics…
But she is still such a happy, smiley baby. Love this little rolly polly!
