Toddler Time
April 1, 2012 1:29 pm The Scott Family
Have I mentioned that getting photos of toddlers is hard? Well, it is! Especially if they know you and or grew up with your big fat camera in their face. So, I’m trying to learn that it’s not about capturing the perfect photo anymore… instead it’s all about capturing the memory. All I am after is a few pictures to remember the moment so that when we look back we remember our sweet little buddy’s personality at this fun age. I have to remind myself of all of this because it is quite often that if Owen actually looks at me when I have the camera, it’s never long enough to compose a good shot so there is always a hand or leg cut off. UGH. But, you see, I do at least have the memory! haha. Here is a good example of a day at the park. To even get O to look at me, I have to take several of him just being a typical boy… you know, tormenting flowers, running the football, etc.

Then he might look up, but chances are it’s going to be blurry and this usually drives me too crazy to even post, but I’m trying something new here and going for the memory, right?… then finally… he will sit still to rest and I can get one, but then I cut off a leg and finger or two. Sigh. Must get faster with that shutter! But look at that little face! Awww. He’s the bestest.

Two years ago today…
March 19, 2012 12:45 pm The Scott Family
Marked the best day of my life so far. Two years ago today, Owen Brooks Scott was born. He is such a blessing and we knew our lives were forever changed the moment we laid eyes on him. Each and every day gets better and better because of him. It has been so exciting to watch him grow and learn. Thank you Lord so much for this amazing gift of being Owen’s mother!
The past few months Owen has really blossomed into a little boy. He got his first real haircut and lost several of his curls. While this makes me sad to see my baby is growing up, I am also excited about the fun times ahead. It will continue to melt my heart every time I hear him say “Love you ,mama” Can there be anything better?? Owen has been very busy learning the alphabet and all their sounds. In fact, letters are his favorite things to play with! Spend five minutes with him and I’m sure he’ll tell you all about it! :)
Owen also saw his first movie in a theater recently. We saw Lorax. He enjoyed it and was such a good boy!
This month, I went on leave of absence from IBM, and I am so thankful for this extra time I get to spend with Owen. It has been a lot of fun so far! I am so glad that we get to spend these last few months of him being an only child, together!
Here are some recent pics:
Donuts for Owen’s birthday party at school:
This is Owen playing “Ring around the rosy” before he realized I was watching. WE LOVE Mrs. Higgins!
Owen doesn’t really like sweets, but he at least picked up the donut! ha. He picked the letter “O” for himself, of course!
We went to woodward park to run around that afternoon, so I was able to grab a background for his TWO year old shot…
Okay, now we’re going to go have some birthday fun on this RAINY day!

Amanda and I hosted a baby shower for our best friend Kelly a few weeks ago. She is expecting a little boy, to be named, Hayden in just a few more weeks! I have been very busy with work so I have only edited a few pics from the shower but I wanted to share them with her here.
Sweet Kelly, I promise to get a cd together with all your pics before the baby is Owen’s age! ;) xoxo A

Ben and I were hoping to be surprised and find out the gender of our new baby at birth, but we just got too excited and decided to find out Monday at our ultrasound! We wanted to do something special to share this with Owen and then our friends and family so we did a little gender reveal for Owen with balloons.
In case you’re wondering, it’s a ….

Owen is SOOO excited to be getting a little sister!
We are just overwhelmed with joy and we feel so blessed. We are so thankful that the baby looks healthy and happy and we can’t wait to meet our precious baby GIRL!

Christmas 2011
January 2, 2012 4:07 pm The Scott Family
Here are some snapshots from Owen’s second Christmas! I was really hoping this would be the year that he was ready to rip into gift after gift. Instead, he was happy with his stocking stuffers and had little desire to even open the other gifts. Sigh. Next year…
So we asked Owen to look out the window to see if there was any sign of Santa or Ruldolph…
Also for those of you wondering what all of those fingerprints on my screen door came from, this was just seconds after the first shot…
… just keepin it real.
His GiGi got him buzz and woody pjs and needless to say they were a big hit and his pjs of choice for Christmas Eve and Christmas!
Here is Owen showing me one of his stocking stuffers, a buzz lightyear cell phone…

Owen did show a lot more interest in the Christmas tree and ornaments this year. This made decorating a lot more fun!!

He helped hang them and often wanted to take them down and do it again so I gave him a bucket of ornaments (shatter free) to play with throughout the season. Here he is feeding one to Ham…
My sweet and very silly little buddy…

My sweet, very silly (and snotty nosed), buddy… I love you more and more each day! XOXO- Mom

Final Fall Minis!
November 13, 2011 8:17 pm Family, Photography
Saturday was the last of my fall minis for this year. And oh what a windy day it was! Thank you so much to my families for sticking it out with me
Your sneak peeks can be found at:

The first family is the Martins. They have to be the sweetest family I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. I have never seen a family that excudes more love for each other. And could they be any more beautiful? The boys are just so precious!
The second family is the Craigs. You will probably recognize Finley, Owen’s future girlfriend. She came ready to pose, just not for the camera! I love the one of her by the tree. That’s her idea and she would run away when I got my camera out. She is the absolute cutest!

Pumpkin Patch 2011
October 16, 2011 3:20 pm The Scott Family
Today we made our “annual” trip to the Pumpkin Patch in Bixby. Owen really enjoyed the pumpkins. The animals… not so much. We tried the pony ride but only made it around once before they stopped it and let him off. His favorite part was just standing by the pumpkins and pretending they were drums.
Now I only wish we had some cool crisp fall weather to go along with our new pumpkins… I keep hoping it’s right around the corner ![]()

We let Owen pick out his own pumpkin in the big tent. He carried it around most of the time we were there. Here he is waiting to pay for it…
Did I mention he is not a fan of ponies?

He cheers up pretty quickly though ![]()

Owen’s laughter makes my heart smile.

Aww, so cute! He is getting SO big! The pumpkin patch is the best, we had a B’day party for Rhett there on Saturday… 80* is unacceptable weather for a day at the pumpkin patch!

18 months!
September 19, 2011 5:30 pm The Scott Family
It is so hard to believe that my little baby is a year and a half old today! I wish I could just freeze him at this age. I know I have said it a lot, but this really is my favorite age so far! Owen has such a great personality and so much fun to be around. He is my little best friend. Somehow I have been blessed with the best child in the world! I love him to pieces and I am so thankful for every minute I get to spend with him.
Here is a trip down memory lane as a recap of the last 18 months…
